Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Cholera outbreaks pose a severe public health challenge in many parts of Nigeria, including Gombi Local Government Area in Adamawa State. The disease, often caused by contaminated water and poor sanitation, spreads rapidly in communities with inadequate public health infrastructure. Preventing cholera outbreaks requires sustained efforts in awareness creation, hygiene promotion, and behavior change, which are areas where radio can play a pivotal role. Radio's ability to reach remote and underserved areas makes it an ideal platform for disseminating health messages and mobilizing community action.
